In the midst of her duties, Crescent was walking down a corridor, passing door after door that she knew to contain a few of the many, many former vampires located throughout the entire mansion. Moonlihgt was shining in through the windows, illuminating the hallway. Crescent had been told to check up on the younger blood creatures. To her, it seems that that was all that she does...
Crescent continued down the what seemed never ending halls. Having alot of walking to do, she began to think of various things, weather she wanted to or not... Such things as her past, which had a tendency to pop up quite often, and Abel, whom she believes to be dead.
As images and memories returned to her, unrestrained. Crescent began to hallucinate. She thought she heard a familiar voice behind her, Crescent spun around, not sure weather to believe what she was hearing, and looked up and down the corridor she was walking down. There was no one there. She could have sworn that the voice was of her recently parted lover, Abel. She heard it again, it came from behind her again. This time when she turned around, she saw Abel. Standing tall with a friendly smile, fangs slightly protruding out. He outstretched his arm with his palm face up. Crescent reached for Abel's hand, but as she got closer, he began to slowly fade away.
"ABEL! ABEL!!" Crescent shouted at the fading figure, her voice cracking mid-sentence from her lack of speech. She lunged forward but ended up passing through him and landing on her hands and knees on the hard wood floor. Crescent looked over her shoulder to see if Abel had vanished yet. And to her agony, he was gone. She moved around to find a comfortable spot and soon was sitting on the floor, back against the wall, and her face in her hands. Choking back tears that were ready to pour out.
