Siren closed her bedroom door behind her with a blank, indifferent expression on her face. She walked up and down the silent corridors until she reached the main room of the mansion. It had two twin staircases that curved outwardly. She began to slowly walk down the one on the right, under the impression that she was alone. The only sounds were her barely audible footsteps.

Crescent was lying on her bed, awake. Lately, well ever since being changed into a Blood Creature of course, she's had trouble falling asleep. Outside her door, she heard light steps as someone walked by her room. Crescent stood up and stepped over to the door, careful not to trample on the Blood Creature children, who seemed most pleasant sleeping on the floor, that she had to share the room with. Crescent reached for the door knob, turned it and opened the door.
Crescent softly padded down the hallway, her long purple dress flowing behind her. She soon arrived at the twin staircases, and walking down the right-hand stairway was Siren. Crescent walked down the steps to where Siren was. She placed her hand on her shoulder, "You should be in bed, Siren." Crescent whispered to her.

Siren slowly turned to see who the hand on her shoulder belonged to. It was Crescent, a wolf blood creature. Reality was drifting away from her when she began her walk through the mansion, but her mind was pulled back into focus when Crescent spoke. Siren stared blankly into Crescent's eyes for a moment before she answered the fellow blood creature's question.
"I could almost ask you the same thing..." Were the words that finally came out of the chinchilla blood creature's mouth. Sure it wasn't much of an answer, but Siren mind wasn't there enough at the moment to come up with a better one. At first, she thought of lying. She could always say she was going out for a midnight hunt. In the end, Siren decided against it.
"Just couldn't sleep..." Siren said simply. "I know if I sleep, the morning will only arrive faster. Even without a sun, during night hours there is less commotion and it's a little more peaceful. It's nice to know there's a possibility I may be able to forget what I am, even for a moment..." Siren paused for a few minutes, as if she was deep in thought and trying to clear her mind. "Why are you up, Crescent?"

C rescent stopped what she was about to say and looked over the REAL reason she was up, "I can't go to sleep either... My past continues to linger in my thoughts..." She said almost inaudibly. Memories returned to her about the day she was fatally wounded, and brought to James' Mansion. They have always haunted her dreams and even during the day while she was awake.

"............"
Siren didn't speak after that. Not so much because she had nothing to say, but she wasn't in the mood anymore. Siren didn't like to speak to much because something always comes out of her mouth to remind her of the most unpleasant things.
James decided to take a midnight stroll inside his beauty of a mansion. As he walked down the halls he proudly admired the exotic and expensive tapestries, paintings, and other decorations. He came to a stop when he reached the stairway, seeing a pair of familiar faces. "Ah Siren...and Crescent..." He greeted. 'You both are up awfully late, you need your sleep if you are to be useful to me at your highest potential. Please return to your rooms." He spoke, eyeing Crescent for a moment. Then he held his hand out to Siren. "If you wish, you may spend the night in my room." Siren took a step away from him, her eyes showing no desire for his request. James kept his hand reached out towards her for a few more moments, before giving up and taking it back. "Very well. I expect you both to be in bed soon."

Crescent took upon James' words. She walked past James and back down the hallway to her bedroom. She heard the door softly click behind her as she closed it. Crescent carefully made her way back to her bed, not stepping on the children. She layed down and closed her eyes, still having trouble actually falling asleep. But she eventually did.
